Amazon had an insanely good deal on Settlers of Catan yesterday (15 bucks!) so I picked it along with Carcassonne up. I had been looking to pick up some more board games, and I've had my eye on these for a while. I've got old standbys like Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, etc, but wanted something more along the lines of a strategy game.
These games are something I've neglected for the past few years, mainly due to the fact that I never had anyone around that was interested in playing. However, that's starting to change.
Anyhow, what are some of your favorites? I for one enjoy the card game Rook immensely. Rook seems to be almost exclusively a southern thing though. Growing up, it was a staple with my family around the Holidays. It was a sign I had "arrived" as a young adult when I was invited by the adults to play Rook after opening gifts Christmas Eve.
