Favorite cheese?
« on: Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 03:35:56 PM »
I've been on a cheese kick lately and was just curious as to what every ones favorite cheese is? I've been trying all kinds of different cheese. I really like Guada, and Havarti. Fontina is pretty good too. But I still think my favorite is good ol' Cheddar.

Cheddar is great with everything. I personally like it mild or medium.

I'd have to say my favourite is Mozzarella followed very closely by Halloum cheese. It's a pretty tough call between the two actually.

Cream cheese is pretty good, does it count as cheese?

Next I'd say Swiss cheese just coz it's pretty versatile as well.

After those comes Kashkaval and various other metly cheeses.

Feta, White.. All good too.

I generally like stuff that doesn't have a strong, almost offensive flavour. The only one I'd really consider is Gorgonzola, mainly in sauces.

Hmm.  Münster is pretty high on my list, though I don't know for sure if I can call it favorite, and I certainly can go for the more usual mozzarella, cheddar, jack, or colby-jack anytime.

I do love me some Colby cheese.

I don't think I've ever had Halloum cheese. Whats it like?

I enjoy Havarti and Brie a lot.  Provolone and mozzarella is good stuff too.

I love all of those.  I also do like the occasional goat cheese on crackers.

Goat cheese can be good, and Belmont mentioned provolone which I love.  Don't know how that escaped my list.  That's probably just as high on the list as münster.

Fromage D'affinois is pretty damn good too. It's a type of brie. Delicious.
