Big press release thingy

Short version: new Americas Army game using Unreal Engine 3. You can pre-load on Steam now, but non-Steam versions will be available on the 17th.

I must have missed AA2.

I tried and tried to get into AA but just couldn't.  I guess it was too realistic.  If a grenade was anywhere in your general vicinity you were toast and I spent most of every round in spectator mode.

I had some major issues with the original game, but I hear it has evolved quite a bit now and it's actually a fairly decent game.  Still, I have little interest in this 'series'.

AA2 was just one of the big AA updates, not like a real sequel.

I liked AA...until they moved player accounts to another server or something and it lost all the training I had completed. I didn't want to do it all again so I waited for them to fix it...and it was months so I just stopped checking. That and they stopped releasing patches and instead it was a full 2GB download every update, fuck that.

I really enjoyed AA. There was a buddy of mine I played with, and it was a blast once you got the feel of it. It really did feel harrowing, knowing a single round could end your...round.

I just wish AA3 was going to come to the 360. There was that abortion of an iteration that came to the console a while back--wasn't worth the time to DL the demo.
