Shinjuku Incident
« on: Sunday, July 12, 2009, 12:50:49 AM »
This is a new crime drama starring Jackie Chan.  It's surprising, and somewhat awkward to see Jackie Chan in a drama.  Every time there was a confrontation I sort of expected Jackie Chan to start kicking ass, but that really doesn't happen.

I saw it tonight and it's actually pretty good.  Since the story takes place in Japan and deals with Yakuza and organized crime, it ends up being quite violent.

The entirety of the film is in Mandarin, Japanese, and Cantonese so subtitles are a must unless you happen to be fluent in all three languages. There's like a bit of English from a news interview and that's it.  :P

I think it's been a few years since there's been a good Jackie Chan movie, and this is a decent one, so check it out if you get the chance.

I haven't even heard of it, but I'll totally check it out.  I like Jackie and have been sad to see him do mostly crap lately.
