Disciples II. It's awesome. Stop being stupid and go buy it.

Awesome deal.  $15.99 for both, and Disciples II is the gold edition, with like... a freaking lot of stuff.  Take my word for it, Disciples II is one of the best fantasy strategy games ever made, and features some of the best artwork of its era.  Give it a shot.

EDIT - No more deal, but it's still damned cheap.

Okay, there's no more deal, but I'm going to use this thread to remind you all that you need to pick this game up.  This game is so unbelievably gorgeous.

Seriously, this is the best fantasy strategy game ever made.

Ahh this game brings back a lot of memories. Fantastic art direction, and great music too.

Indeed.  And it's worth noting that when you buy from GOG.com, you get a 63MB archive of concept art stuff and the in-game soundtrack.

I've got on retail disc Disciples II: Rise of the Elves Edition. Comes w/ Disciples 2 + Rise -- I bought it for like $10 or something, when my local KB Toys was going out of business, some few years ago. I installed it and that was it. But it wound up uninstalled b/c I was playing other stuff.

You know, looking at those pics -- yeah, that art direction is pretty awesome. You know, if I get into Disicples 2 anytime soon and like it, yeah -- the GOG pack sounds like good stuff.

I just played this for like 4 and a half hours.  Seriously, go get it.  This game is fantastic.  Also, you still have to save after every move even on easy difficulty because this game is fucking hard as nails.  It's like the fantasy strategy version of Demon's Souls.  Make one mistake, you're in trouble.  Make two, you're done.

Yea it was quite hard. I think I was close to finishing it when I stopped for some reason.

But the difficulty was one of the main appeals of the game. I also loved how it was unabashed about its card game mechanics. This was indeed a fine turn-based strategy game, and if I didn't have a ton of other titles on queue at the moment, I would definitely load it up again. And yes, it was insanely addictive. I remember playing for 8 hours on a Sunday. I might just install it for my sister... hmmm..

My friend bought the collector's ed., and it came with some nice art and cards etc. It was one of the few CEs that actually was labeled as a collector's edition in the installer. I know it isn't a huge thing, but it was nice.

How is it running on Vista?

Couldn't tell you, I don't use Vista.

I still have the CE on my shelf.  Not a particularly fancy CE, but I'm glad I got it.  I've always meant to check out the card game.  I noticed yesterday that all 4 decks are still in their original plastic, heh.

Looking forward to Disciples III if they'll ever hurry the hell up and finish it.
