Sandy and I ended up drinking a whole bottle of champagne. After the midnight countdown and watching the Times Square ball drop, the neighbors across the backyard set off a bunch of fireworks. Big colorful shells, right there, perfectly visible through her big bay window. It was awesome. Then we noticed Perfect North Slopes was having a display of their own. They were low on the horizon, but the colors were reflecting heavily on the misty clouds that always seem to be above their artificial snow.
The predicted snow and ice never came. It's bright and sunny today, also counter to the forecast. I'm so sick of the fearmongering local weathercasters. We should have gone out, but at least the event of the calendar level up (I like that, idol) was pretty cool.
Happy New Year to everyone! I think we're all there now.
