Well I know only 2 other people care about FF here but I mainly made this to inform Belmont of this news.
Alright so I'm a pretty big Fear Factory fanboy, even with their sub par releases of their last 3 albums I still flipped out and listened to the crap out of them. Though after Transgression I sort of just moved on from them as I wasn't sure that they could rekindle of what they had when they created the 2 best metal albums of all time. Just last week Que and I were discussing stuff on the former FF band members and how much FF has had such a big influence on each of their corresponding bands they've been playing in that I commented it's like they truly never left FF. So here we are in 2010 and unbenounced to me and having been checking the FF website periodically from time to time to see news on band stuff which pretty much only showed news on that shitty Arkeae band, there has been some new FF workings going all last year that I didn't even know about. Now that I've looked up news from other places besides the deceptive FF site there's been some changes in the band composition, since Raymond Herrera and Christian Olde Wolbers joined a new band called Arkeae, which wouldn't be so bad of a band if the vocalist didn't sound like a screeching emo punk, Burton C Bell put aside differences with the former FF member and we all thought never would return, Dino fucking Cazares. Yea... I shit my pants too. The other two members are Strapping Young Lad's bassist Byron Stroud and drummer Gene Hoglan, FF has had good relations with SYL since Stroud was with FF since after Digimortal (when Dino left).
When does this amazingly potentialed album release? February 9th. Can you get it now? YES, because the internet has magic! Do you have it Pyro since the internet is magic? You bet I do!
I've listened to this beast 3 times, while my bias fanboyism is having a total fucking aneurysm, my more critical ear can't help but feel that Dino really has helped bring together and create that FF spark that's been missing for so long. The album is so much more consistent and focused than the previous entries before it, and is very much Dino powered. No where will you find an oddly placed U2 cover or some weird fucking poppy tuned electronica track, this fucker is all metal. Anyway, that's all I can really put in, I love it obviously, and Que plans to check it out too since we both have love for the old FF, so we'll see after I've listened to it 56 more times.
