Yea, when EA bought Mythic they combined BioWare and Mythic into "Bioware Mythic" as their "RPG department" or whatever. The Mythic name isn't so great after Warhammer Online though, so it's not surprising I've yet to see a Bioware Product with the Mythic name on it. Mythic apparently lost a lot of their employees to Star Wars The Old Republic too.
Anyway, this basically looks like they took the instances battlegrounds from the MMO, made them into a 3 team setup instead of 2, and are putting it out as F2P. The maps and models I'm seeing in this trailer look exactly like the ones in the MMO, so they're probably the same assets. I was never huge on instanced pvp in any MMO, but as a F2P game on it's own it might not be too bad. The 3 team setup seems interesting too. People have complained that one major flaw of Warhammer Online compared to Dark Age of Camelot (the last MMO from Mythic) is that it's only got one faction. So now you'll have 3 teams, but it's only 6v6v6.
I'm really curious to see if there's any character or equipment progression in this. Will you upgrade your way through the pvp ranks and the associated armor that's already in the MMO? Or will everyone have the same gear so that it's an even playing field? There's got to be room for item shop items somewhere, unless this is going to be a "buy it once, then play it free forever" type deal. (you know, like games have been for years. But hey, "Free To Play" is a way to sell people on a game these days.)
EDIT: on second though, I guess Mythic is now known as Bioware Mythic, and is a subdivision of Bioware. The studioes weren't merged, but Mythic is now considered a subdivision of Bioware.
