Motherfuckin Guns!

This trailer almost made it into the win thread.

Also, I didn't know this game existed. Cool, I guess. Actually it looks a little shitty so the trailer fits pretty well. I doubt it'll hit the so shitty it's good territory though.

That trailer was amazing just on the fact it had lava monsters on pogo sticks.

So, Giant Bomb did a quicklook and it convinced me to try the game out.

Turns out it's kind of awesome for what it is. The action is actually pretty tight and, if you have a duel analog controller you can use, the controls are pretty tight too. There have been some fun gameplay mechanics beyond the stacking gimmick, which is a lot of fun in of itself. You can basically build your own spread gun and tune it to fit your style or situation. It's littered with a lot of great little random moments like the proper Serious Sam games, but somehow these feel more random. Either that's because this is somehow more strange than a proper Serious Sam* or it's just more densely packed in the interest of being storter. Also, it has dinosaurs. You ride some of them. What else did Serious Sam need?

It's on a bit of a Steam Sale for $6.40 (compared to the usual $8.00) and might be worth a luck if you have the inclination to check it out. If not, remember when there's the inevitable sale that it's worth checking out.

*Really, the game's sense of humor is strange. Even for Serious Sam, it's just random and almost awkward at times (in a good way)

Sort of a random moment spoiler...

Gunstacking looks cool, hehe.

EDIT:
LOL @ 9:02 - "Looks like I'm running around w/ a television antenna," said Jeff, commenting on the gunstacking.

Its being pirated, what else is new? Though I have a beef with them over a point.

DRM Free
I'd like to point out that while the non-cracked version of the game requires an internet activation to play, you can run Steam in offline mode and play the game that way as well.  There is no restriction on the number of installs you can make once you've purchased the game. The Steam version of Serious Sam Double D only has traditional "copy protection".
I think you're confused as to what "DRM free" actually means.

And Steam is NOT traditional DRM, either.
It uses the Internet for protection.
Traditional DRM uses a disc-check.
