You're right, I've got no problem with people praying. My trouble with this is:
1) I assume people that pray are already praying for this to be fixed. We don't need the government to tell them to.
2) Which is #2. The government is asking people to pray. That doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence and I'm sure the constitution has a few things to say about that.
If this was the catholic church or a bunch of religious groups getting together to designate a day as a day of prayer for this issue, then that would be fine. But we're talking state senators here.
