Anyone heard of Gogol Bordello?

Have to give the guy props on the violin. Love this song!

It's a "gypsy punk" band. A co-worker of mine brought one of their CD's in to work, and told me to take it home and check it out. It's awesome.

I've seen these guys twice - once at a small bar here where I had no idea what I was walking into and once at Sasquatch.  Great stuff.

This is one of my favs.

Love this part

"'m gathering new generation
That's gonna stand up to it
To this karaoke dictatorship
Where posers and models with guitars
Boogie to the shit for beats
I make a better rock revolution
Alone with my dick!"

they had a pretty big radio hit over here with "start wearing purple" a few years back. at the time i was working in a kitchen where we had the radio on constantly, so hearing that song several times a day, for weeks on end, put me off the band a little.

seem quite mad and fairly entertaining though.

I went and saw them in concert last night...WOW.

It was such a great great show. Probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to. It was amazing. I LOVE this band. If you ever get a chance to see them, please go, it's totally worth it. Their style is usually described a "gypsy-punk", but it's so varied that it's very hard to categorize. He commented on stage that categorizing things like music is kind of an American thing, and that he just considers it music. They went from very high energy guys and girls jumping around and rocking out, to being very melancholy, and then back to rocking out and going crazy. The band is so multicultural. I think that's were it's at and why their sound is very different and varied. And the Scottish Asian chick is bangin'.

Here is a solo performance of Eugene Hutz playing a song called "Tribal Connection".
