Christine Shreeve Hubbs was well known and liked in her community. She was known as the “Hummer mom,” because she often gave neighborhood kids rides in her 2006 black Hummer.

I think it's less damaging to young guys than it is to young girls, though depending on the kid you can risk some psychological damage either way.  Still... I was so fucked up by 14 already I'd probably have been fine.

Age 13 or 14 is just too young to be having sex, I think. That's not a conquest you want to think about going on at that age. Plus, I am not sure how differently these kids will treat women differently when they grow older etc.

Yep, too young. Obviously it depends on the kid, but 13 is the age where you start to think about women and get excited about seeing boobs..not the age to start having sex. Progression is a healthy thing.

It's all a matter of proportion.  There's this allusion to cruel and unusual punishment somewhere important in this country, no?  Let the punishment fit the crime, and let the antediluvian moral hysteria die the horrible death it deserves.

I can't load the video so I just went from comments here. What was the sentence? Without actually thinking about it I had just assumed she had gotten probation or something.

Hubbs was arrested last week and is being charged with 67 felony counts of sexual assault, including oral copulation, statutory rape, lewd act on a child, and exhibition of lewd material to a minor. They say she had a sexual relationship with two boys under 15.

She is in custody in Santa Rita Jail in Dublin [California] on $4.3 million bail.

This woman may as well have committed a string of armed bank robberies over years.  At least then, she'd have a lot of cash stashed away for when she came out of prison a much older woman.

67 counts of sexual assault on two boys? Those kids got fairly consistent action.

That sentence seems too harsh to me but I haven't the slightest clue as to what it should be. What I would want to do is lower the age of consent laws to something closer to 14 or 15 but in this case that wouldn't change anything. If you're saying let the punishment fit the crime, what do you think it should be?

Some form of banishment away from kids.  Community service involving adult victims of sexual crime.  Stiff fine.  Then she'll have to deal with the social and marital consequences of her actions, which will be far from trivial, not to mention lawsuits.

Those kids got more action than I did as a married man in his mid-twenties.  Fuck my life.
