The 3DS is apparently going to be priced at 25,000 Yen, or $300 USD.
My interest has suddenly dropped down to zero. $300 for a handheld? The hardware is only a little better than that of a PSP. I realize that Nintendo's appeal has been the games, but I'd say price has also been part of the reason why their stuff has been selling. And I am not at all interested in the 3D aspect of it. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it. Not even $250.
Nintendo has gone on record stating that they wished they had charged a lot more for the Wii, which is I think them losing perspective. I think the lower price point was a factor in why the masses bought the thing in the first place.
