How do I port forward?
I have my ADSL router connected to my wifi router, to which my PC is connected.
Whenever I try to use bit torrent, I don't get the green smileys. They are either yellow or blue, suggesting a NAT problem, and I don't get proper download speeds.
Someone suggested I create a virtual server on my NAT settings and create a port forwarding.
I am having some trouble with that.
Whenever I enter my local IP address (192.168.0.100), it rejects and says: LOCAL IP AND ROUTE LOCAL IP ARE NOT IN THE SAME SUBNET.
Also, in the virtual server settings, there are a lot of application options to chose from. What should I be choosing for torrents, or does it not matter?
Lastly, there is also an option of DMZ. What is that?
edit:
Should mention that when I connect my cable modem instead of my DSL to the wifi router, there are no such problems. Only issue is that cable modem is on a really slow bandwith package, as I have it only for backup.
