I finished Acts III and IV last night.  There's a lot I could say.  Aside from some quirky AI issues, the game has been a slam dunk so far.  From what my friends say the multiplayer is fantastic and has worked from day 1.  Nice to have a release that works without needing a major patch for once.

After I finish up this evening I'll head into multiplayer.  Horde is supposed to be great this go round.

Finished up tonight.  Great game from start to finish.  Easily worth full price.  Multiplayer looks rather expansive and I can't wait to dive into it.

Best part about the game?  An actual ending to the trilogy.  No open-ended bullshit, nothing vague.  An honest-to-God conclusion to the story.  Not a damn thing that sets up another sequel, and it's glorious.

Good deal.  I'm still trying to get into 2.  Went through a dark tunnel with those exploding, running things.  That was fun.  We go back into the daylight, oh look, a huge guy lumbering by on the street.  I need to do what?  Huh?  Menu screen.  I lose.  WTF?  Back for more later . . .

My 3 friends and I completed the campaign on Wednesday night. That was great. Not just the game, but the fact that you can play through the entire campaign with so many players is great.

The Gears 3 campaign feels like it's got less variety in pacing compared to Gears 2 though. There's a few points Gears 2 where you'd have a slower pace and a darker color pallette and it did a great job of mixing things up. Gears 3 felt a bit more evenly paced. I guess that might be a good thing for some people, but I liked the variety Gears 2 had. The campaign in 3 is still great though. Of course, i could also just be seeing the pacing this way because I played through it with 3 other people and the slower parts weren't moody, they were time for jokes.

I also love the way the locusts make their way into the battle now. Instead of their being emergence holes, they just fucking pop out of the ground then 20 feet in the air like ninjas, its badass.

I'm currently in Act 5 now, which I think is the final Act. I feel like I'm flying through it and the game really doesn't feel so hard, I'm even playing it on hardcore which is what I hear is recommended. There are some tricky parts but its nothing too taxing that a second try won't get you through it. Also I find the friendly AI to play a bit wonky a lot. They have more health than you do and they will often just run the fuck up to the enemy to where sometimes it will just be a jumble of your COG teammates and locusts or lambent just running around each other meleeing like crazy, it can be a bit ridiculous at times. I also tend to fall down a lot more than they do. Most of the time they revive me but I've had some few occasions where there will be a COG really close to me and they do nothing. So yea, the friendly AI is my biggest complaint about the game so far, but seeing as how this is a trade off to deal with for 4 player coop, I'll take it.

Yeah I've had some wonky AI issues, too. Once I died right at the end of a fight.  The metal riff played and then the rest of the team just ran off toward the next objective, leaving me to bleed out.

Act V is the final act, let me know what you think of the conclusion.  I thought it was pretty great.

Haha yea. I had a rather frustrating moment, though this doesnt have to do with the AI, but at the lambent berserker part. The hammer of dawn gets activated, and im running to take cover in the fort, and literally a hair of a second before I make it in, I die but then the successful cutscene plays out for a couple seconds then I get a game over screen. FUCK YOU HAMMER OF DAWN.

Don't play Horde mode in splitscreen.  This appears to be a serious bug that could damage your profile.
