Path of Exile (It is free and apparently awesome. How are we not playing this?)

Website: https://www.pathofexile.com/

From wiki:
"Path of Exile is an online action RPG set in a dark fantasy world. It is developed by New Zealand based independent developer Grinding Gear Games and is a downloadable free-to-play game supported by "ethical microtransactions".[2] On January 23, 2013, the Open Beta was released.[3] By March 2013 the subscriber base has reached 2 million players. The game left Open Beta and was fully released both on Steam[4] and on their own website on the 23rd of October, 2013"

Gamespot have it a 9.0:

"Considering that Path of Exile costs you nothing beyond some Internet bandwidth, it provides an embarrassment of pleasures. If you like standing out in a crowd, you could toss Grinding Gear Games some cash by purchasing a cosmetic accessory, like a nature aura to surround your wand, or a pet ferret to tail you. I'm so fully committed to Path of Exile that I've spent a bit of coin myself, and my witch is only one of many wayfarers I intend to guide through Wraeclast. Many mysteries still await me, even in the savage regions I've already charted."

I remember playing the beta a while back and it was pretty good. Dare I say an overall better experience than Diablo 3? Yes, I do dare.

I was following this for a while early on, think I posted something about it. Maybe? I dunno. I haven't looked at it in forever, though, or played it. Grim Dawn has been the only other ARPG on my radar, and I've played some of the alpha of that.

A friend of mine plays it and has nothing but praise for it. And yes, supposedly a lot better than D3. :)

I played it when open beta started (basically soft release, because characters would no longer be wiped). Myself and 3 friends played pretty hardcore until we finished the first playthrough, at which point I got bored and quit. The game was solid, but I'm just not into the click-to-everything playstyle of those games. It seems like a weird sticking point, but I'm just noticing that I really don't care for anything click-to-move, especially if you also have to click-to-attack and other stuff. Same deal with Diablo 3, MOBAs, RTS. But yea, Path of Exile is an extremely solid Diablo 2 style game (much more like Diablo 2 than D3 was).
