Oh man... crazy! It's pretty interesting to see someone talk about the experience publicly as it happened.
My grandmother had a bad stroke while on the phone with my aunt in Maryland. My aunt suddenly noticed severely slurred speech and hung up and called my mom, who went over to find her laying on the bed and unable to move. She lived alone and only had visitors every few weeks or so. So, if she hadn't been on the phone at the time, she probably wouldn't have survived the additional 12 years that she did.
