Beer for the blind

The world's first beer for blind people has been released in Germany.

Duesseldorf's Uerige beer, considered one of the world's best 'Alt' beers by experts, is now releasing new 0.33 litre bottles with a braille label.

Blind activist Joana Zimmer welcomed the news.

She said: "For blind people every drink is actually a lucky dip.

"You often have no idea what's about to go in your mouth. But with this bottle you are clearly told what it is - and that's fabulous

What the hell does that have to do with eyes?

I would think that you'd have a reasonable expectation about what you're about to drink in a bar seeing as how you probably just ordered the drink.

Still though.... whatever works I guess.

Since this product was invented, I'll assume this was a problem. Blind guy has a few, puts his drink down, can't remember if his drunk is the one he's grabbing out for, or the one right next to it. or maybe just a peace of mind thing.

I see no downside, whatever yo

I am an idiot... I thought they did something to the taste of the beer to suit blind people.

If it weren't so stupid I'd laugh.

I thought blind people had a keen sense of smell! I can distinguish the scents of different beers, and I don't even drink!
