I started playing this game last week, I've tried twice before, but the game was always so damn buggy. Its still buggy, but not nearly as bad as it used to be.

Not terribly surprised. Projects like that need to walk a very, very tight line.

Yeah, they sure do.

Of course, legally - CCP and Activision have every right to shut it down. Activision was original V:TM-B publisher; and CCP holds the World of Darkness and Vampire license.
Still sucks for the fans, though.

Still would've been nice to see it come to fruition.
Would've been nice to get V:TM-B off the aging old version of the Source Engine; get it on a modern engine (to make it easier to get going on modern OS's) like Unity; easier to mod w/ it being on Unity Engine; and w/ all kinds of brand new graphical bells + whistles supported by Unity.

Was curious to see what they'd do w/ the MP, as well - since Troika's V:TM-B was supposed to have it in the first place, anyways.

GOG -> Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines has joined GOG.
GOG -> V:TM-BL's Store Page - game's currently $20 (normal MSRP price).

Things to note:
-- GOG's version of Bloodlines comes already equipped with third-party Wesp Patch 9.5 Basic Version.
-- GOG's version also comes with a Legacy Mode, for those who want to play the game with Troika's last Official Patch for Version 1.2. Info on that from GOG here.

EDIT - June 21, 2016:
RockPaperShotgun - Article on their game recommendation series: "Have you played Vampire: The Masqeurade - Bloodlines?"

EDIT - August 25. 2016
The Verge -> "The hidden afterlife of Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines".

This article is about after 12 years, how the game still keeps getting unofficial patches - where some have unreleased content added back into certain unofficial patches, unfinished content getting finished by modders, people debating what the "true" version of the game is, etc etc.

PC Games N - "One Man's Endless Quest To Fix Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

It's an Article on VTMB with Werner Spahl, maker of the Unofficial Patch and how he's on this mission to keep patching, restoring, and tweaking the game w/ his unofficial patch.
