So I saw most of the first two seasons of Desperate Housewives and I was pleasantly surprised. I've avoided the show because every TV spot shows it to be some oversexed show featuring four unattractive women. Actually that is the reason why I avoided it all this time, because I thought it would be something like Sex & the City.
The sad fact is that sex sells, and every advert I've seen of Desperate Housewives features them dressed in 'sexy' clothing and just doing stuff. The only one of them who is alright is Eva Longoria, but I think she is highly overrated in terms of looks. The point is that the show is pretty good, and features some well written drama and comedy. Unfortunately they sell it as something else and that's why I put it off for so long.
So yes, the first two seasons were quite good.
I've loved every season of The Shield so far, except for this one. There was always something fantastic going on in every season, and I highly recommend the show to anyone who has missed it. The fifth season was pretty average, and there just wasn't nearly enough tension. The final episode has a bombshell towards the end, but after all the hype I was expecting it to happen and it did.
