That sucks. I haven't had a donut in years. When I do, it's a Krispy Kreme right out of the oven. There's nothing better.

I hate KK.  That stuff is vile.  Might as well shove eight pounds of sugar down your throat all at once.  I can eat one, and I tend to feel a little ill, and anything beyond that I feel like I gotta' puke.  I love donuts, though, but I never eat them.  They're beyond horrible for you.

I had a couple munchkins yesterday.  Quick small sweet fix.   Bavarian filled

i think I prefer sweet soft pretzels to donuts at this point.

I like donuts but only in very small amounts, two at the most if they aren't too sweet, beyond that and my stomach feels off.  Apple fritters are pretty awesome.

Apple fritters have long been my biggest pastry weakness.

I see no reason why you wouldn't like a fritter, then.  I like all those things, and in my opinion they all pale in comparison to a nice warm fritter.

There is a small Mom and Pop bakery about 5 blocks from my place here in, Columbus. It's called Schulze's Bakery, they have the BEST donuts I've ever had. They have been there since the 70's, I think. Every Saturday my Dad buys a dozen from them for as long as I can remember. If you are ever in Columbus, go there. Weird hours though. they are only open 7am to noon Monday through Saturday.
