I saw this on Fox News a few times, can't find an article though.

That's pretty massive. It is good to see though.

That is impressive and certainly welcome and appreciated, but didn't Katrina happen more than a year ago?

I remember the New Orleans Saints not being able to play in the Superdome at all or hardly at all last year's football season and they played in the Superdome all this season, which is just about to end.

I know. I just found out recently.... I am just glad to see that donations aren't only restricted to poorer countries and that humanity can overcome certain boundaries and biases. The whole Katrina thing was disastrous, and if had taken place in another country others would have been falling over their feet to send help. I think considering America's economic standing people assumed they didn't need help.

Though I suppose Kuwait remembers the American help during the Gulf War when Saddam took over.

Oh yeah, I wasn't trying to downplay it or anything.  It was a noble gesture and it really was a gigantic catastrophe and millions of people lost everything, including their places of employment.  It was a pretty hopeless situation for a lot of people.

Though personally the idea of a city below sea level is completely idiotic and it's almost like asking for something like this to happen.  But that's another thing altogether.

No I know. I too found it strange that something like that happened so later after the disaster. How are those places doing?

I've been watching the whole Tornadoes disaster in Florida on TV. Pretty horrible stuff. The played some of the 911 calls and I just couldn't bear to hear it.

According to Fox News and Wikipedia, the donation was more than a year ago, too.

On Sunday, the country of Kuwait pledged US$500 million in oil products and other aid to United States Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. It is the single largest donation given to help the victims of hurricane Katrina.

Thanks, but I think Pug cleared that up already on Saturday.
