Apartment hunting
« on: Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 10:36:27 PM »
I did some browsing of apartments today and I found one that I absolutely fell in love with. Its small which is one reason why I really like it, but the living area the kitchen and the bedroom area are all interconnected in one space, the kitchen is in the middle separating the living and bedroom. Theres no doors except for the bathroom and laundry room. Its a newer apartment so the kitchen looks great along with the carpeting. The rent is a little bit high but it comes with cable and water, but I think im willing to take on a tighter budget for living there. There was another that looks really nice, its got a little porch in the back even, 2 actually had the porch and one of them has a really nice view since its near the edge of a hill. I really wish I had brought my camera with me now. So yea, so far moving is looking more sweeter.

Sounds like a studio. That can be pretty cool if you're living alone. I lived in a place like that I moved in with Aimee and enjoyed it a lot.

I may be moving again soon actually.. Maybe a couple weeks from now, but I have no idea where I'm going at this point.

Not too long ago I was toying witht he idea of living alone and looked into a studio apartment... yeah you walk in the door your standing in the kitchen take another 2 steps you'd be on the bed and when you're sleeping your feet are in the kitchen...  :o

I'm moving next semester as well. I'm actually living with a girl, so I'm curious to see how it will work out (probably much cleaner). I'm used to living with sisters, though (have 3) so I doubt it will be a big deal. The apartment overlooks the whole city that I live in, it's on the mountain (city in the valley) and the view is spectacular. Plus she has really nice furniture so I'm excited.

wow.. sharing with a girl  ???  One apartment I checked had 2 rooms.  I would've gotten one room, other room would be a guy but I thought it would be quite awkward so i'm still looking.

About how much is your studio, Pyro?

Its 400$ a month with cable and water, its not all that bad.

I live with a female, shes about as messy as I am so it works out. Then theres the dog, the only issue I have with her is when shes crying in the morning when they put her in her crate. But it wont be too much longer when I move so I can deal with it till then.

$400?  I hate you so much.  My rent is basically 3 times yours.

That's the one major thing keeping me out of the Bay Area.  If rent wasn't was so ridiculous I would have been there long ago.

Yea, but like everything you could ever want is like walking distance for you.

So what?  It has to be because I can't afford a fucking car.  Or to buy anything that's in any of the shops within walking distance for that matter.

 ???

Damn..  used to rent a house (3 bedroom, 3 bathrooms), for $300.  but I kind of knew the owner and we had to pay for a whole year.  that's the only reason why we got it cheap.  I lived there a year and a half and then I've been moving so much since then.  I'm looking at renting a room for about $100.  There's a studio that's about $250 though but I'd have to pay for 6 months :/  And that's out of the question.  I doubt I'll be there 6 months.

Anything short term is insane.
