Thanks Pug
« on: Monday, April 23, 2007, 08:10:13 PM »
Hey guys, hows everyone doing? As many of you know I havent really been around much lately. I drop by from time to time to check things out and make sure they havent died completely. I'd like to thank pug for emailing me and showing me that vt thread. I thought it was hilarious. I never got that pissed, I never got too angry about anything that happened on these boards. And no, I'm not gay.

I dont really know if anybody cares, but I'll let you guys know what Ive been up to the last couple years. I never really let anyone know about my personal life cause I started using the forums when I was a wee little one, and now i'm comin up on 22.

I am reminded of this place from time to time. I loved the time I spent here. I think of most of you guys in the same light that I do my other friends in high school that I've grown away from. I dont know if I'll ever be a regular poster here again, but I do want to keep in touch. Between school which is getting crazy, friends, and the fraternity, I dont know how much time i'll have for it.

So what big things have changed since I've gone?

Always good to see you, mate.  Even if you never waste gobs of time with us again, it's always good to see you pop in and say hi!

Not too much has changed since you were last here, although we did finally have a get-together here in California.  It was good times.  There's a link to my site in that thread where you can check out all the OWmeet pics I could fit, along with commentary.

All else is business as usual for me, though I'm sure a few other folks will have something interesting to say.  At least, I hope so, otherwise we're all going to seem horribly boring.

Hey buddy.

Good to hear an update.  The details of everything escape me, but I most definitely recognize the name and personality.

The community is pretty much business as usual.  Few new additions, few have left (as is always the case).

Personally, I am wrapping up my freshmen year at George Washington University in Washington DC, which has proved to be a GREAT experience for me.  I am really blessed to be able to attend this place.  I have learned a lot.  That said, at the moment, I am a bit homesick.  I really want to get back and ride my motorcycle/see my family.

Suck it, Pugnate.

Yeah, I wouldnt worry about the homesick feelings. After your first year, youre dying to go back home. After that, you'll want to stay at school.

And I would really be up for a meet sometime. I looked at all the pictures and it seemed like a good time. I live in Philly and have the funds of a poor college student. If anyone is up for one on the right coast I'd be down.

Oh, also interestingly enough. I dont really play many videogames anymore. I play a lot of guitar hero, but I cant find the time for much else.

Yeah, so you might have missed the whole deal about me not actually being a girl. Thankfully most people have forgiven me and I got to help host the whole meeting.... so, I guess this is my chance to appologize to you as well. Sorry.

Nice to see you around. I hope you're becoming one of the cool engineers and not one of the stuck up ones. I'm betting on the good type.

that's cool that you guys all met up.

Aparently I never checked that thread after my original "maybe, but I'm worried about Que killing me"

I never really let anyone know about my personal life cause I started using the forums when I was a wee little one, and now i'm comin up on 22. My name is Dustin Dickinson and if any of you use facebook I encourage you to friend me. I stopped posting right before I became a freshmen at Drexel University. I'm now in my third year and going for a degree in electrical engineering. I've worked 2 6 month co-ops at Unisys and a little telecom company called V-comm. I joined a fraternity freshmen year. Sigma Phi Epsilon. I had a girlfriend for about 6 months, she was smoking hot, but had no brains whatsoever. I havent gone out with anyone since. Lets see, what else is there to know?

I am reminded of this place from time to time. I loved the time I spent here. I think of most of you guys in the same light that I do my other friends in high school that I've grown away from. haha I've learned more about you in one post than I had in years. It is good to see you posting here though and keep the girl friend. So you will have beautiful babies that may have your smarts. :P

Hey man good to see you stop by.

I feel like all of us play less games than we used to.  Just three years ago I was playing Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory for 3-8 hours a day. Now I probably play an average of one hour a week.  I don't know if its the games that have been coming out or my free time or what.

I just turned 29 a few months ago, which I'm pretty sure makes me the second oldest here.  I'm still in undergraduate studies.  A junior at that.  But I'm loving the things I'm doing.  I'm an IT major at the University of Cincinnati, with a focus on networking and a minor focus on web-related technologies.  I'm always posting about cool IT stuff, but I don't think anyone else shares my level of interest and those threads are basically about me talking to myself.

Anyway, its good to hear your life is going well and awesome to have you stop by.

Damn we are all getting along in terms of age. I am turning 27 in two months. When we all met on IGN I was 19. Jeebus.

That's crazy to think about.  Almost 20, and I was 13-14 or so when I was first on IGN.  Crazy.

Ditto for me.  It really does blow my mind sometimes that we've all been a community for this long.

I've been here for all of my teenage years and some earlier ones. That must have warped me at least a little.

You should start posting a bit more, eventually it'll feel like you never left.

and I'll always remember the time that we spammed up AOG's gamers.com unused message boards.

Serious Hams had potential. It could have been an overwritten affiliate.

Good to see you again Schlotzky. It's been awhile. Good to have more diversity on the boards. ;)

Yeah, that was when we went to the empty gamers.com boards and spammed it up. Me, ren, Schlotzky, and a few others did it for a while until someone figured out. Then we spammed up AOG before anyone showed up. I had like a 150 post count after the first day or something.

It wasn't bad spam, though. We were having intelligent discussions. :-[

HEY YO!!!

Welcome back.

Oh dear, you started a whole discussion about "remember that time..."

I was 20 the first time I met you guys on IGN, I think. Either 20 or 21.. 27 now.

gamers.com - I didn't like the way the place looked.

AOG.... fun times when we tried to compete for the spot "thread killer"  I still think I won that.

I remember when Que first came around.. the name and the way Que wrote caught my attention.

Schlotzky - stay away from girls till you're ready for em.
Taken.

An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman walk into a pub. The barman says, "Is this some sort of joke?"
