Topic: New Linkin Park Album Sucks

How is that different from their old albums? I don't mind the actual instrumentals too much, but the rapping is laughable while the lead vocalist sounds horrid. Overall I consider Linkin Park to be the Paris Hilton of music. They sound totally fake and I find their fame mystifying.

Mike Shinoda did a kickass remix of Enjoy The Silence, but other than that Linkin Park are not my cup of tea.

They had some good, slow, whiny stuff in the past, but they also had some stuff that would get you pumped. Theres nothing like that in this album, its worse than the NIN album, but not as bad as the Deftones.

I used to listen to LP in high school. I grew out of them long ago, though. Even if this album was like the old stuff, I probably still wouldn't listen to it.

I dunno, I got into LP just before and during college, and kinda liked them. Wouldn't call them a favorite band or anything, and I never really listened to other similar music, but I liked them. Yea, they're whiny, but I can deal with that.

I tried listening to Fort Minor - The Rising Tied, and it just made me want to listen to LP instead. After a few listens though, I kinda grew to like it.


But yea, nu metal, or whatever genre you want to call LP, is something I don't get into. I generally like my music to be more metal than that (and pissed off, instead of whiny). But I like LP for some reason.

Yeah, I can't put my finger about it.  I think it's the mix of the singer's voice and the Mike Shinoda's rapping plus the sort of electronic music accompanying it.  I don't love Linkin Park or anything, but I really, really like the song "Breaking the Habit."

I've listened to Fort Minor too.  The first time I heard "Remember the Name" during that Friday Night Lights commercial, I thought it was Linkin Park.  Fort Minor is ok, but I think the singer-guy in LP really adds something that's missing with Fort Minor.  "Remember the Name" is a decent song to get pumped up to though, like for working out.
