Pyro's idea isn't half bad. Just do it stylized enough and it could look cool. However, I have to say something with a zombie in it is going to get my vote almost regardless of anything else. How about... zombie with a typewriter? =D
I haven't really had the chance to do much at work last few days, and the one chance I did have I forgot to use for this, so... yeah.
Oh, and as an added note, I think the thing should either work so it can be scaled up or down to fill more or less space depending on where we might want to use it, or we should design a couple different ones for different uses (i.e. have a large, rectangular one to title the main page, then have small, square one for other places we might want it but not want it to take up so much space).
From what Idol posted there:
The first one is a nice example of the simple-is-better philosophy. Simple, neat, usable. Don't have to do too much to it. Maybe a small graphic, some text, done. Whatever. Those work and you can kind of throw them around easily.
For the second link, if we wanted to do something a bit more unique, I liked the idea behind the
Octonaut logo. I think something like that would work for us. The graphic isn't too simple, but it isn't overly complex, either. Something easily vectored, which would keep it easy to manipulate and allow us to futz with it for different things. Simple text to accompany it. That kind of thing would be ideal for us, I think. Nothing too flashy or distracting, keeping it memorable, but nothing so hard to create that it would drive any of us mad. Like if we coupled Pyro's TME/OW idea with some attractive text and a nice color combo... that'd probably be an easy sell to the average reader right there.
