Live Free or Die Hard.
« on: Friday, June 29, 2007, 10:27:47 PM »
So, I thought the movie was going to be absolute shit. Just a bit of propaganda. But it was actually decent. I mean, as a straight up action movie. It was a lot of fun really.

Just turn off your brain a little bit.

I can't wait to see it.  While I don't really respect the sequels all that much, Die Hard was one of my favorite movies.

Plus, I love the name.  New Hampshire has the most awesome state motto.

I saw this a couple of days ago and I enjoyed it, some of the action scenes were nuts and Bruce Willis did a good job with the McClane character once again.

I'm glad to hear it turned out decent.  I was sort of hoping against hope that it would.  I doubt I'll see it in theaters, but there isn't much I actually go out for these days, and I'll certainly rent it.

Oh crap I didn't realize this was being released this weekend.  I'll have to check it out either this week or the next.

Me, too -- especially since I really liked all the first three Die Hards, so far.

I was hoping DH4 wouldn't turn out to be junk -- and well, reviews seem to be decent, so far.

Agreed. I'll definitely rent it.

I enjoyed the movie, but Bruce's sidekick was kind of annoying. I kept picturing him in those TV commercials, "Hi, I'm a Mac... whatcha got there, PC guy? That's interesting because with iMovie I can make great-looking movies quickly and easily..."

The other thing that annoyed me was the F-35 bit which seemed extremely improbable, even by Die Hard standards!

A Die Hard movie that is rated PG-13 seems sort of untrue to the series..

That said, it is getting good reviews, so maybe I will give it a shot.
Suck it, Pugnate.

I actually had a chance to go see it this afternoon, but decided not to.  I've heard pretty much universally good things so far, which is a bit of a nice surprise considering that I wasn't expecting much based on the previews.  I'll have to check it out in the next week or two.

I saw this last night and thought it was awesome throughout.  Obviously it had its share of cheese, but it really was excellent.  I'm trying to decided if I like it better than the original Die Hard.  Time well spent at the theater.

same for me. I need to rewatch the original to decide, but this new one may actually be my favourite in the series. If you liked Die Hard at all, you'll probably like this.

I saw it today. Very satisfying Die Hard movie to say the least. I wouldn't say it surpasses the passed ones, well maybe the second one, but very entertaining movie.

Saw it tonight and highly enjoyed it.  I'd say it lived up to the legacy quite nicely.  It was worth seeing in the theater.  Nice to see something that just... was there.  Nothing too much to think about, nothing too get all emotional over... just a bunch of cool stuff happening with crazy bad guys and a wisecracking hero.  What's not to like?

Nonstop action through out... wow, and completely over the top.  Still, I enjoyed it for the most part.
