So, I have been attending Columbus State since June 25th. I'm liking the whole college thing. I feel less useless, and I feel I'm actually headed somewhere with my life, heh. Anyway, I have English 111, Math 101, and Fire Science 100 at the moment. Today I was attending my Fire Science course and we got to put on a turn-out suit, just to see what it was like. Well, actually it was full gear. Turn-out pants/coat, helmet, SCBA, gloves, mask, boots. I thought it was going to be this super heavy pain in the ass thing, but it wasn't terrible. The turn-out gear is like wearing heavy winter clothes. Most of the weight is the SCBA which weighs about 35 pounds. All and all, I had on about 50-55 pounds of gear. I felt like such a bad ass. And I looked uber manly.
I'm digging it.
