Why? It was only $2.50 at a thrift store. I also turned that place upside down to see if, just maybe, they had the system. Sadly, that was not the case.
The 1 button is pushed in and won't pop out, so I've gotta open the thing and check it out. Of course Nintendo uses those special tri-wing screws so theres another challenge. Still...all set when I get my Wii. The lights all light up and its practically brand new.
*UPDATE*
Button 1 is fine. I was looking up various ways to open the screws without having the screwdriver and not having much luck. I had a look at the controller again and noticed something appeared to be wedged into the area around the button. A little fiddling later out pops a small sliver of cardboard, and put pops the button. I have a perfectly usable Wii Remote.
