So, tonight we were dragged to a concert.

Not my type of music at all. A friend of Meg's had tickets and we were kind of talked into it. It was "Skillet", "Seether", and "Breaking Benjamin". It was OKAY, but it was kind of lame. Just not digging the music. Seether did one song that was decent. I'm not sure what it was called, but it was pretty good. Other than that, it was just "meh". But it was free, so whatever.

Nothing I'm really a fan of, though I find myself wondering if it's the same Skillet I used to listen to back in the day.  Like... way back.  I only had one CD, and it was a little strange, but pretty cool.  I kind of doubt they're still around, though.  But you never know, I guess.

I saw Steve Vai, one of the greatest guitar players in the world, Wednesday night.  Fucking great show.  Steve isn't for everybody, but any guitar geek can't help but enjoy this stuff.

EDIT - Heh, yay for YouTube.  This song was recorded with his kid as a baby making weird baby noises that he turned into vocals.  Good stuff.  This looks to be not so long ago, though his lineup changed since that video.  The guy enjoys making his guitar sound like things it shouldn't.

Skillet is a Christian alt-metal band. Not sure how long they've been around, I've only known of them for about two months.

There they are. They were okay.

Well I'll be damned.  That's them.  They look so fucking different it's scary.  I bet they don't sound anything like what they used to, either.

Anyway, see above edited post for videos of stuff that is (in theory) a lot better than "okay".  =D

Saw Brian Jonestown Massacre again the other day.  Sucked as much as the first time I saw them, and anyone who says differently needs to pull their head out of their artistic ass.  One of those bands that shouldn't play live because the guy is such a fucking junkie drama queen he ruins all the sets.  Of course, most of the fans probably don't care because they're into the whole image more than anything.  I didn't walk out of this one, but instead got drunk and sat at the bar yelling stuff at people walking by.
