SERVER STATUS updated 10.01.2007 - 12:24 AM - TDM server is experiencing issues.
Note - we're now running the R1Q2 netcode, which is supposed to be superior to stock. You can use
EGL's latest beta (
grab it here) to take advantage of this, and it's a pretty good source port to boot.
DM server is at 67.188.97.0:27910
CTF server is at 67.188.97.0:27920
TDM server is at 67.188.97.0:27930 - currently having troubles with TDM flag dropping after initial map and bots losing team status. Looking into what's causing it.
Please note also that
all servers will show as empty unless actual players are online. So if you check the status it'll say 0/## players unless you've got live bodies on,
but bots will always be present to make up for the fact that we probably won't generally have a full compliment of players (but as has been proven, even just 2 people can have a good time with a few bots to fill in the gaps).
DM notes - server should be randomly populated with a few bots at all times when it's up. Join and play with whoever, or try to get ahold of me if you'd like to change something / play with different DMflags.
CTF notes - server should be randomly populated with bots at all times. Still working out the kinks. You should be autoassigned a team upon entry.
TDM notes - type "cmd join <teamname>" at the console to join one of the available bot teams. Lists auto-populate, so if a player drops, a bot will get added to the team, and if players join a team, whichever team they join will have bots dropped from it so teams stay constantly at 4 players a side.

Okay, so I'm trying to get people playing, hence I wanted to start its own thread. So here you can find all the downloads you'll need to get started, and where you can join up to test them out to make sure everything's working spiffy.
Firstly, go to
PlanetQuake's official patch list and grab
The full 3.20 download (with CTF). That'll get you up to speed.
Next, you can try several of the Quake 2 source ports out there, but what idol and I have been using is
EGL. It looks pretty good, runs great, and uses the R1Q2 netcode that's supposed to be superior. In any case, it works dandy and is an easy way to get yourself up to speed.
Once you've done all that, try out my two stock Eraser DM and CTF servers! I'll be adding a team DM server once I get back from running errands, and we can try a game later tonight if you guys are up for it. I'm trying to get back up to speed with all this, so bear with me.

No custom maps or models yet, but give me time to sort out some stuff. Depending on what's available over at
TastySpleen, we may have access to some goodies that we can just download in packs and use (and then you don't have to even think about it, I can just set shit up serverside). We'll see. I'll need a little more time to fiddle.
So get set up and come play! I'm juiced because I used to live for this stuff, even if I always sucked a little, and I'd love to play with you guys. So do it. Do it now.
