Um, they do make these right?
« on: Tuesday, October 02, 2007, 07:56:55 PM »
What I need is a stereo Y-adapter, but one that goes from from two connections (left and right) to one connection (headphones).  They make these right, because I can't freaking find one.  I need to take the audio cables from my playstation and hit them straight into headphones.  I don't have my stereo and my television is mono.  It's a bitch.

I have something like what you say, but mine is a male miniplug connection.  If you are trying to hook up headphones, you would need a female connection.  May need a combination of adapters for that.

Ok, what the fuck.  Maybe I just don't know what to call this.  I need three female ends: Left stereo in, right stereo in, and a headphone jack.  Why the fuck can't I find this?  I just looked on ebay under y adapters and couldn't see anything.  I'm pretty sure I used to have one of these that came with my pc speakers/sub, but it's probably in a box in storage.

Sorry, I missed that for some reason (warning and all).

Yeah - you're probably right, it seems like I"ll have to combine a few of them.  That works for me I guess.  I might even be wrong about that other one.  I'll probably go over to my storage unit to try to find it in the next couple days. I wouldn't be suprised if I did and it was something else completely.  Damn.

Or am I just really good at out-sourcing?

...thanks.

"Stereo Mini Jack Y'd out to two RCA females"

I think that's what you want from that page.  $2.89.  My PC speakers came with the same ends, on a cable.  Logitech calls it an adapter for game consoles.

Weird.  It looks like three RCA jacks from that image.

I think I know the cable you're looking for! It's basically a stereo female end with a headphone extension (female) rather than a male end. I have it, pretty handy. I also have a little jack that came with my Logitech 5.1 set that does exactly that too.

Kinda like this but with a female end:

But more specifically like this:

That's what came with my Logitech PC speakers, exactly that.

Yeah, that image I posted before looks like 3 RCA ends, but it's what they have posted.  It'd be nice to get a more useful angle on it.  It might be they used the wrong picture too.

Edit: I got the Logitech's to use with the 360 at first, and I didn't know they included that cable.  I couldn't find the equivalent at Microcenter, so I ended up getting these to do the job:

I laughed when I unpacked the speakers and found what I needed already there.
