A touch disappointed with that. They shouldn't be calling it the 9800, as it is still the same 8800 architecture. This should have been the 8950 and should have been released in November. Thanks ATi.

Yes if you slap two of those together.

Quad SLI looks for people with money to burn only it seems... well as does SLI.

The two cards molded into one scheme shouldn't be given a new series number. Last time they did that with the 7800s, they called it the 7950GX2 rather than the 8800.

Awesome.  I'm thinking of getting one or a 9600gt as soon as the tax department gets off my back.

Yeah, I was leaning for a while b/t the 8800 GT and 9600 GT. I just decided for like the extra $30 in price, I'd probably be happier w/ a 8800 GT.

Oh yeah, totally.  I think it will still have a longer lifespan than the 9600GT.  A $30 difference is nothing in the grand scheme of things, and the only reason I'm thinking about a 9600gt over an 8800gt is because here it's more like a $50 difference....with a mail in rebate.  I imagine that will change very soon though.

Yeah, I'm including the $30 BFG mail-in on this one. I got $50 off instant for a new credit card, on this deal -- was too good to pass up.

Anyways, yeah, I just tested Timeshift on the PC -- my God, I threw up all the settings in TimeShift and I'm getting insane framerates around 60-90 frames per sec.

Oblivion also is around the same, w/ everything maxed. And I thought Oblivion looked great before, on my old card (6600 GT); my God, this is really no comparison w/ this new card (8800 GT). It blows it out the water. The detail on the armor and the long distances drawn out w/ buildings and whatnot; it's gorgeous.
