Topic: The writer's strike must go on!

For some reason I've really enjoyed following this:

I hope the writers get higher pay in the end. They do most a lot of work, yet it is the actors getting paid 20 million per episode. While the actors are often performing a difficult art, the writers don't get get the pay and recognition they deserve.

But the longer the strike continues, the longer will the reruns continue on TV. Plus all sorts of movie productions are going through delays. Fortunately the JLA project is also on hold because of this.

The strike could be a good thing in the sense that it may have people find other activities.

This strike is awesome because it is putting the Castlevania movie on hold too and there's talks of it getting canned if the strike doesn't end soon.  Fuck you Paul Anderson.

Yea, but because of the writer's strike, all the networks are most likely gonna turn to reality television.  Do we really want more of that?!

The only show that the writer's strike is affecting that I watch is House.  Other than that I mainly stick to Discovery Channel and The Science Channel and the occasional Adult Swim.

Nothing on TV is scripted so heavily as reality shows.

All I do is watch Discovery Times and the channels that its grouped into.

The strike in the 80's led to many reality shows. Cops, America's Most Wanted and other shows came out of the strike. This one will have a similar effect. Hell, American Gladiators has come back because of the strike.

I got to 140 grains, then blew it on "chanterelle".  I had no idea what that was, so I guessed "nicety".  Heh.

Chanterelle... mushrooms, if I'm not mistaken?  I don't know how it's spelled, though, so it might be the wrong word.

Also, I sort of figured he was referencing the word insipid, but I couldn't tell if it was because he thought I got it right or wrong, heh.  I don't have time for the game just now, but I'm going to give it a whirl later.

It's because insipid is one of my favorite words, and basically no one I know ever uses it.

I tried the game:

Can't remember the first word.
I got "gustatory" right.
I lost on "laird", my third word.  I suck.  But that was lame, I had to keep trying.
"Commensurate" was easy.
Got "exanimate".
Got "carbonado".  Easy!
Got "moxie".  Also easy.
Got "stint".  Come on now...
Got "akimbo".
"Morass" was easy.
"Bequest" I didn't know, but I guessed right!
"Obovate" I didn't know either, but the root was easily decipherable.
Got "nimbus".
Got "diplopia".
And I lost again on "beamish".  Thought one of the answers was a trick and... well, it wasn't.


And that's 300 grains.  I'll have to try more later.  That was fun.
