For me it's all about ease of use. Well, not all about it, but that has something to do with it. It's almost always easier to get warm than it is to get cool. In the heat, it's impossible to get any cooler here. There's no getting away from it. It's hot, there's no breeze, we don't have air conditioning. We're fucked. When it gets cold (and it can for indoors, trust me... my apartment has the worst insulation ever) it's much easier to warm up. Use the heater a little, or just throw on some more clothes. You can be naked as you want in front of a fan here and not cool off more than a degree, but a sweater will go a long way in the 40s. Plus cold doesn't make you sweat like a filthy meatsack.
