Maybe somebody there will form a coherent sentence now.  That'd be a nice change.

That's what I was thinking.

Jason Ocampo to IGN = credibility of IGN just increased a tiny bit.

I really hope the mass exodus is leading toward the debut of a website by ex-gamespotters.

Eh, Ocampo was probably my least favorite of the Gamespot reviewers. During the video reviews he always just sounded off, especially during reviews for big exciting games like the high end shooters and such (which he always seemed to get).

I guess it's better than most of whatever IGN has. The only dude I'm really remembering is Dan and he seemed alright.

Come on now, it's not like it makes a difference either way.

My hopes are valid!

Mixed impressions of his reviews.   I tried that Rocketmen: Axis of Evil last night, and thought it sucked.  The core gameplay could be good, but it's wrapped in this intrusive comic-strip story.  And the camera forces you along its idea of where you should be going too rigidly.  Poker Smash freezes randomly, and not too rarely.  A game played strictly for score that crashes before you finish your run, and doesn't record anything you did, on the achievement- and leaderboard-happy 360.  Nice going, Void Star.  Craptastic debut effort.  You came so close.  It's due to be patched by the end of this month, and then hopefully it will rock as I initially thought it did.  As it stands, it is exactly worthless.

But then, his Burnout Paradise review is very useful to prospective buyers, and that's the more important of the 3.  It's the $60 big game.

I do hope the site takes off, though.  The gaming world desperately needs more independent journalism, if it's credible.

Actually, it was Navarro who did the Paradise review on GSpot, unless you mean this is stuff Ocampo has done already since his move to IGN.

No, I was talking about Gerstmann's posts/blogs on his Giant Bomb site.  None of the stuff there is from Gamespot, I'm sure.  He'd get sued in a big hurry.
