Oh. I read the thread title and thought that tomorrow you might finally be coming out about being a tranny. Guess not. Enjoy the new television.

Thats old news. We both agreed it was your turn but since you couldn't cut it I had to take up the slack and go through with it.

And your still not satisfied.

What TV did you end up deciding on?  I remember the thread you made, just not the decision.

Congrats dude.  Make sure you get in a few games before you have to ship your 360 off.

DLPs are so much cheaper than other stuff.  We went to look at TVs with my father in law on Sunday, and man we found some pretty seriously good deals on huge-ass DLPs.  I think we've upgraded ourselves to 50" now instead of 46", so it should be good fun once we actually pick one up.  Unfortunately Julia wants to wait until after the meet and stuff.  Sadness.

Well it's here, and its beautiful. I hooked up my 360 to it and set it up to run on 1080p and played some games. My jaw dropped to the floor at how sharp it was. Its really something amazing at how much a big screen can make a difference. I checked out Assassin's Creed, GoW, then CoD4 and all of them looked absolutely fantastic. Heres 2 pics of how the new living area looks:

A little messy since I just threw stuff on the papasun. Right now the TV is just sitting on my coffee table since I pretty much had nothing else to use, didnt have enough for a stand quite yet. The stand you can buy with it on amazon is 250$, but theres supposed to be cheaper ones you can get at walmart. I also plan to move the papasun out of that corner as theres more room outside the desk, and Im going to buy a nice big shelf to put games and stuff.

If you absolutely must have your 360 on a carpet (*shudder*), stand it up.  The slotted vents will be on the sides in that position, instead of the all-important lower half of them smothered by the carpet pile.

Congrats on the TV!  Looks . . . big.

Totally awesome.  But yeah man, at least get a book or something solid under that 360.  I won't let any of my consoles touch carpeted floor if I can help it, but definitely not the 360.

I put an end table there for the consoles to sit on. Now I just need to get component cables for the PS2. The Gamecube is a different story since component cables for them are only found online for 60$. I'm not going to bother with those however since I plan to get a Wii as soon as I can.

I did find a spot on the TV where it looks like a light from inside in hitting the back of the screen. Im not too bugged by it, because its really hard to see and you am only able to spot it when the screen section is black there.
