Holy broken mess, Batman! That's a lot of fixin'.
Ain't that the truth...
EDIT, 4-24-2008:
Yeah, I installed it 2 days ago. Now I remember why I liked it so damn much. God, this really was a very good RPG. Especially when it comes to questing, given choices of what to do on how to finish a quest, etc etc.
We all know the turn-based combat mode was fine -- a lot like Fallout, basically.
But, I decided to give real-time a shot, since I do prefer it in most (modern) RPG's. Y'know, the real-time combat is actually good. Maybe I just made my character too weak in combat, last time around?? I dunno. But, yeah -- if you do fight anything way outside your level, you're thrashed in no time. Otherwise, you're fine.
But, if you need to pause the game, you can just hit "switch to turn-based" so you can cast off a spell or something.
Regardless, I'm back to enjoying Arcanum!
I just wish you could zoom in and out on combat -- like Sacred and Beyond Divinity (two other 2D RPG's) allow you to do.
Oh, and I wish you configure the controls, to your own liking though...
