Hancock
« on: Tuesday, July 01, 2008, 07:20:54 PM »
Went and saw this with some buddies of mine tonight. I really like the idea of a super hero who is a drunk, and somewhat homeless, it's just a cool idea, so I was kind of looking forward to it.

It was a fun summer movie, had a good amount of comedy, and some action. It you're in the mood for something like that, I'd recommend it.

I want to see this.  I hear the final act was a little disappointing, but it still looks like a fun movie.

This might sound like typical "nickclone gibberish", but I swear to God I've been daydreaming this movie as the lead for the past five years.

I saw this tonight.  It was... fair.  Not a bad flick, but definitely a rental.  The best part of the movie?  Charlize Theron.  Damn she just gets hotter and hotter as she gets older.

I've read reviews for this thing -- and, Hancock sounds like the letdown I was hoping that it would not be. As soon as I saw the trailer sometime ago, which looked like a movie completely deconstructing the superhero genre and spinning it on its head, I was holding out hope for this one not doing what other edgy flicks do that start off very different and very edgy and then fall into the "let's change gears and make the last 1/2 or 1/3th a Hollywood type-of-flick."

I was holding out hope that it'll be hilarious and by the time the movie's over, it'll just be Will Smith playing that drunken asshole anti-superhero like he did in the trailer, but for the entire length of the movie.

Well, damn. Reviews look like they're leaning towards the film changing gears, sometime in this flick. That is NOT what I was hoping for. So, bah.

I'm sure I'll see it, but not until DVD now.

I watched it the other night, Charlize Theron is amazingly hot, and I enjoyed the movie, it was fun and the comedy was entertaining.  I also think the ending could have been a bit better crafted.

I didn't really have a desire to see this, but now that I know Charlize Theron is in it I am interested. She could be babbling nonsense onscreen and I probably wouldn't realize it because she is so fucking hot.

It was awesome. I really enjoyed it. The comedy swindles down around the last 1/3 of the movie but it was still enjoyable.
