Unlike Baldur's Gate II, the older FO games don't seem to have aged well at all.
Probably b/c natively, FO doesn't support high-res and wide-screen. There's mods out there for that, though.
I dunno, but I don't mind FO's old-school turn-based style. Same goes for Arcanum, as well.
Though, for some reason - I just never really got into TOEE - even w/ the Circle 8 mods out there...
BG2 was great - and still runs on most PC's today, as long as you turn OFF hardware acceleration; same goes for most Infinity Engine games (Planescape: Torment; Icewind Dale games). None of those games have aged, honestly - it's that damn Infinity Engine for you, some of the best 2D RPG'ing ever around. Plus, you can bump that bad-boy BG2 up to higher res's natively - even if they weren't supported by Bioware, Bioware left them there purposely just in case people wanted them for the future...
EDIT:
No, I am obviously not talking about the graphics, or the interface. The actual game is unnecessarily tedious.
What do you think is tedious about it?
The turn-based strategy/RPG part?
The questing?
Random encounters?
