Whoa
« on: Saturday, October 18, 2008, 06:58:01 AM »
So what's this weird thing I just read about sav really being a guy?  It's nice to see you guys still together.  Reading some of your posts reminded me of some hilarious stuff back in the old days.

Is everyone from the old days still here?

Doing alright.  I just recently moved to the Middle East and just got internet hooked up recently.  I was bored and was thinking about the old forums so I did a search for savarian_syan and found some funny stuff about her being a dude named Matt.  That took me to this site where I see a bunch of familiar names.  It's awesome that most people are still around.  Is there any significant news I need to be caught up on?  Marriages, kids, etc?

I see Pug is still around.  Did he ever move in with that transgender stripper he kept talking about?  I sure hope things worked out for him and him.

I'm doing alright.  Working too much though.  I'm in the United Arab Emirates.  Moved here several months ago.

First impressions:  Summer is no joke but not as intolerable as one might think.  The traffic and driving habits here are worse than any i've seen, even compared to L.A.  Food is generally excellent and relatively cheap.  So far I think I might stay for a while.  If it wasn't for work, I would say I love the place but my job prevents me from exploring the area more as I don't have too much time at the moment.

Haha I just left Dubai and moved back to Abu Dhabi. I worked in Dubai Media City for about a year and a half and I just resigned last month and moved back to AD. I still visit occasionally (usually for freelance projects or consulting).

Dubai is exuberant. It is ridiculously expensive and the hustle & bustle of the everyday routine was too much for me. Traffic is insane!!

On behalf of all non-Emirati residents, welcome to the UAE and sorry about the Dubai-induced stress! :D
