Cool. Can't say I'm excited about it just yet as my mind is occupied by the anxiety of getting Fallout 3.

I'm still waiting on Fallout 3 PC. Apparently no shops here have received it yet. All they have are the X360 and PS3 versions. Sucks.

I jumped for joy when I heard Elder Scrolls 5 coming in 2010.

I tell you, BethSoft is like a fine wine -- with age, they just seem to be getting better and better.

Morrowind was much more stable than Daggerfall was according to many and the dungeons weren't random anymore.

Oblivion fixed a lot of my concerns w/ Morrowind (with now full-on voice-acting, no more breaking the game by killing story-characters) -- and yes, I thought MW was great).

Fallout 3 fixed a lot of my concerns w/ Oblivion (much more pre-set choices to finish quests, full-on dialogues trees replace "topics", not as much level-scaling, more unique responses from NPC's, the game's more stable than Oblivion.).

Hopefully, next game, BethSoft will just allow for MORE sorting and divisions within their Weapons, Armor, and Spells -- since you can come up with a lot. It's not that their inventory is bad, it's just you need more division b/c you still can pack-rat too much stuff.

I'll probably get excited when they show it and announce what'll be new and different.  The universe has tons of potential yet to be tapped.

Honestly, though, I think I'll just go back and replay Morrowind next time I've an ES fix.  I miss that game.

I'm still nowhere near finishing Oblivion. And I probably won't anytime soon, since I have FO3 now.

I can't believe how much mileage I'm getting out of FO3, mostly because I'm so eager to go back as a new character and do things differently.  Tremendous.

I was seriously contemplating starting over today, but I really like my character. It's incredible how many paths there are. I'd love a personality-based character just to see the dialogue options.

None.
B/c I actually open the box and make sure all the discs and that there's a CD key and all.

The real question should've been, "How many have you put aside and NOT installed?"
To answer that, "Probably at least 30."

They add new content in ALL the time in the form of new patches, seasonal events, world events, new dungeons, new pvp arenas. However MysterD, you seem to forget WHY people play a Massively Player ONLINE game. I love the social interaction that comes from the game. I have met up with my guildmates on MANY occasions and hang out with 3 of them every week. We have all gotten to be very close friends. When I went to Blizzcon I went to a huge bonfire gathering in Long Beach and shared motels rooms and partied all night. I am just about to go to lunch with a gal I met playing WoW. When we do raids in WoW we joke and laugh on voice chat. Often times I laugh so hard at our crap that I have to stop playing for a minute. Do your NPC's in Elder Scrolls do all this? Can you interact with them like I can with my WoW friends?

I think not.

Do I feel I am wasting my $15? Absolutely not.

That's why pretty much most people play MP-based games.

It's what I like about Guild Wars -- which has no monthly fee.

NPC's in ES games are AI-controlled bots, not actual human beings -- since these games are SP-based.

There were rumors in the past that a ES MMO might eventually surface -- but, that was just a rumor. Nothing official. Well, not just yet, anyways.

AI doesn't compare to actual human interaction. And some people do get into character when playing online, kinda weird but amusing with online gamers.

When it comes to environment I think it's just a matter of taste or mood. Sometimes I don't feel like dealing with online players, especially people I don't know, and other times I love being cooperative, friendly, and all-in-all a good samaritan. It depends on my mood. Another factor would be actually getting people together online. It's a lot easier for me to sit and play when it suits me.

For me, ES games (as well as Fallout 3) are for those moments when I just wanna go solo and get lost in their fantastic worlds.

Massivley Multiplayer games are great but they all just seem to be clones of one another with the same monotonous "grinding" rituals. You're always after the next fix to level-up.

For multiplayer I much prefer smaller scale games like Neverwinter Nights, or even Diablo and such.

Not even that, simply a story-driven MMO would be interesting. Even if it's strictly linear. MMO's in general seem to be the most rushed games ever. Seems pubs/devs just want to pump out as many as they can as fast as possible. So they always come out kinda half-assed and then they just rely on daily/weekly updates to resolve the inevitable issues that arise.

Story-driven MMO = Guild Wars.  Not the best story (stories, I guess -- two expansions) ever, and certainly not the best acted, but the events themselves that you get to take part in are awfully fun, and work well contextually.  The rest of the stuff fades into the background a bit when you're busy exploding large batches of bad guys with catapults.

I still need to try that. NCSoft took off the 14-day trials from the official site as well as the affiliates.

Now I'm getting second-thoughts about GW just to wait for GW2, which according to NCSoft is on the horizon.
