The Hangover
« on: Wednesday, June 10, 2009, 09:50:43 PM »
I saw this yesterday.  The trailer reminded me of Very Bad Things but this was supposed to be a comedy by the makers of Old School.  I'm not one of those people that think that Old School is an instant classic, but I did think it was pretty funny so this movie piqued my interest.

Wow!

That pretty much sums up this movie.  My favorite comedies are Meet the Parents, Dumb and Dumber, The Big Lebowski, and Office Space.  I think I laughed out loud more in one sitting of The Hangover than all of the times I've watched those aforementioned movies combines.

The interesting thing is that even though it's by the crew that did Old School, you can't really tell.  The Hangover is a very different movie, and completely blows Old School out of the water in every way imaginable.

Absolutely a must-see if you're into the stupid/crude humor type of comedies.

I want to see it just because it has, Zack Galifianakis, in it. Dude is hilarious.

That's another comedian who I think is funny but simultaneously hate due to his personal views and, perhaps more so, expression of them.  Kind of like Seth Macfarlane: quite an intelligent, funny guy, but what a fucking asshole.

The name doesn't ring a bell and I didn't recognize him, but he makes the movie.

Yeah. He was at OSU touring with Will Ferrel's "Funny or Die Tour" He was the best part of the show. He was heckling audience members while he was doing his thing. And his routine is almost ALWAYS different material. It's like he makes most of it up right before he gets on stage, and then improvises some stuff too. It's great.

Heh, that's where I saw him too, but I was at UNC. Expensive show. Worth it, though.

That's good.  My favorite comedian is Mike Birbiglia and I saw him in Cincy three times now.  The shows were 80 - 90% the same jokes and that kind of sucked.

I went to go see this movie, my idiot friend got drunk and I had to walk him to the bathroom (spent ten minutes there, didn't puke). Then I had to take him to his car to pass out (why couldn't he just pass out in the movie theater?), but I had to find the car first. So I missed a good 25 minutes of the movie, from now on...he's on his own.

Just got through watching it on DVD. OMG - the movie was hysterical. It didn't let up w/ the insanity from start to finish.

And oh yeah, Ken Jeong does it again - he has been really on a roll lately w/ Community (TV series) and The Goods (movie).
