DotA dev working at Valve on project
« on: Monday, October 05, 2009, 10:42:32 AM »
Probably DotA based.

Quote
"I finally have all the resources needed to do some very exciting stuff that you guys will love," notes IceFrog. "As I've said many times in the past and especially after today's developments, I am very excited about DotA's future!"

"My goal and top priority in the future is to solve the surrounding issues that affect the DotA experience in order to allow it to reach new heights," he says
His next announcement better be hes banning all current DotA players for being the most hostile game community EVER and that the new game drops "features" that were actually engine limitations of WC3 (last hitting), then I might get interested.

I'm not sure if this is related, but I heard there was a standalone version of DotA called something 'League of Legends'.  It's apparently in beta at this time.

League of Legends is from the original creator of DotA. It will eventually be a free to play sort of deal when it comes out. Then theres Heroes of Newerth from S2 Games (makers of the Savage FPS/RTS games), which basically got permission from the current DotA maintainer IceFrog to clone the game entirely, but on a new shiny engine.

And now IceFrog is working on something at Valve.
