The Organic Indie Preorder Pack
« on: Wednesday, January 06, 2010, 09:17:09 PM »
Me wanty

The Natural Selection 2 and Overgrowth teams have come up with their own indie games pack for their upcoming games. They figured Steam, D2D, etc pack games together and offer preorder discounts so why not do it themselves where they get to keep all the money? Not a bad idea.

And good news for people that already preordered one of the games: you automatically get the other game free.

At least, as long as this deal is around. Countdown on the site runs for a week.

I loved natural selection. I played the shit out of it till they came out with the 'arcade' style one that made the game completely not fun to play.

Yeah, that mode sucked and it seemed like everyone wanted to play it. Thats about when I stopped playing as well.

Ive entered a contest to win this bundle, but if I don't win I'm seriously tempted to buy it. Overgrowth looks pretty sweet, as does NS2. Plus you can download the editors for both games right away and start messing with em. The thing holding me back is I'm not sure if I'll be able to play NS2 online with my connection. So then its a bit of a waste for me to buy it other than to support them.

Heh, I just looked in the forum and there is a thread where they say they aren't going to make that co_ (the arcadey Combat mode) for NS2. So, hooray!

And in cool news, I won a contest for this indie games pack! Woo! Now I can download the editors/alpha versions!

Thats great news. The arcade mode was like deathmatch with upgradeable weapons. When is NS2 supposed to come out?

All I know is "sometime this year". The alpha hasn't actually been released yet, so I imagine a couple months at least. The engine seems to be well enough along since they have an editor and everything for it (and I believe the editor is all in-engine).
