haha yea he is a bit of a hack. You nailed it about the intereviews... he almost seems like the George Bush of late night.

But I still like him more than Letterman, because Letterman just comes off as a real asshole.

Eh.  I can't stand Letterman at all.  I'd rather watch Jimmy Kimmel than him.

I'm curious since I made a point that I don't watch any late night shows anymore. Do any of you watch any of them on a regular basis?

I don't watch anything on a regular basis anymore.  If I tune into one of these shows, it's usually because I want to see something specific, like an appearance by the president.  Even then, I usually don't learn about the event until it's already happened, and I end up downloading the episode from somewhere.

I'm not a fan of Leno either.  And I agree that Letterman comes across as an asshole.  A lot of his material seeks humor from someone's humiliation, or so it seems to me.  I know a lot of regular people would gladly let themselves get debased to be on national TV.  He also has no semblance of sincerity when interviewing most of his guests.

I used to watch both Leno and Conan almost every night, but that hasn't happened in a few years.  I barely watch TV anymore.  I have been watching Conan almost nightly since this turmoil started.  I'll probably follow him over to a new show, if he gets one.  I really think he's pretty funny.

The final show- Conan plays Free Bird with Will Ferrell, Beck, Max Weinberg, Ben Harper and some others.

Edit: Seems like that was just taken down. I guess you will have to do a search, there should be others up.

The whole episode is on Hulu.

It's very good.  And very classy.  I enjoyed it a lot.  I think he went out like a gentlemen.  His last monologue was outstanding.

I've never been a late-night follower, but Conan was a lot more genuine than Letterman/Leno/anyone.

Felt the need to post this. It's pretty impressive. It's a portrait of Conan, made entirely of Cheetos

Late-night television comedian Conan O'Brien appears in his first interview since having to give back his spot on the "Tonight Show" to Jay Leno. Steve Kroft reports.

Basically he has nothing nice to say about Leno and the NBC execs (contractually he can't say anything bad about them though). He doesn't like people saying he got screwed over but it's clear that he wanted a longer shot at The Tonight Show and definitely doesn't think it was a failure.
