Mount & Blade is good times. If you only get one, get Warband. There isn't much reason to play the original, and Fire and Sword is almost like an advanced mod set in a more recent time period. But you know, $12 for the lot isnt bad.

I have yet to try Bionco Commando [Reboot].
Rearmed is pretty good, though.

Alpha Protocol is worth the $5, if you ask me. Despite MAJOR balancing issues [pistols are TOO weak, dice-rolls w/ misses shouldn't be here, some other skills are TOO strong], is still quite good.

M&B and Warband are fun. Best horse combat PERIOD. If you wanted a medieval open-world sandbox like that of say Sid Meier's Pirates where you just go around battling people and improving your army's size, you'd be crazy to miss these games. I have yet to download and play M&B: With Fire and Sword - since I bought it today and all.

Still kind of thinking about these.  Well, not Bionic Commando (already played through Rearmed and will probably pass on the reboot), but I have Warband and Alpha Protocol in my cart as we speak.


It doesn't seem like my kind of thing, but I have heard nothing but stellar reviews of Frozen Synapse.

Edit:  Didn't end up getting Mount and Blade.  For all the good things I've heard, it seems a bit more complex for what I'm looking for these days.  I don't really feel like putting in time with a very steep learning curve when I mostly game for 30 min at a time here and there.

i picked up frozen synapse and it's great! although it looks complex, it's easy to get to grips with. it's a unique yet simple concept, done very right. pure tactical gameplay that reminds me a of spacehulk. love it.

Kinda.. I mean it's like a B-movie with entertaining action sequences. JC2 is not a game you'll play for story, it's a massive sandbox that will let you play with its toys as you please. The grappling hook is so much fun! Just remembering all things you can attach together with hilarious results!
