EA is stopping support for the old Sims 2. I dont really know what that means but people with Sims 2 on their Origin accounts are getting upgraded to the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.

Don't have Sims 2? Well...EA can fix that. You can do it through Origin or the web site (details in that link) but with code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS you will get Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free. So now you can torture people in swimming pools and kitchen fires as much as you like!

Apparently this is whats included in the Ultimate Collection:

The Sims 2 Base Game
The Sims 2 University
The Sims 2 Nightlife
The Sims 2 Open For Business
The Sims 2 Pets
The Sims 2 Seasons
The Sims 2 Bon Voyage
The Sims 2 FreeTime
The Sims 2 Apartment Life
The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff
The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff
The Sims 2 Holiday! Stuff
The Sims 2 Celebration Stuff
The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff
The Sims 2 Teen Style Stuff
The Sims 2 Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff
The Sims 2 IKEA Stuff
The Sims 2 Mansion & Garden Stuff

Free Steam keys for GTR Evolution!

Grab 'em here courtesy of BundleStars.

You'll actually get three games with this key: GTR Evolution, RACE 07, and RaceRoom Racing Experience.

A couple other freebies I stumbled on. You can get East India Company and Enclave free on Steam.

1) go to www.dlh.net and sign in (make an account or sign in via Facebook)
2) In your profile/keys scroll down for keys!
3) Set your account language to German, and the site language as well (upper right) to see the East India Company key.

Btw, Wing Commander III is still awesome ;D I can't believe I still remember the controls! This is a game that needs a spiritual successor.

and Galactic Civilizations II: Ultimate Edition.

[BTA - All Steam keys]
If you pay more than the average price,
you'll also get Terraria,

Walking Dead Season 2 is 60% off and is $9.99 on Steam.  The last episode came out today as well I believe.  I am debating if I should grab it now or wait for the Christmas sale.

It is GOGs 6th birthday so they are running sales. Each day will have new games on sale based on which year they were added to GOG. Day One/Year One is up now. Check it out.

Humble Store has an end of summer sale on now as well.  You can get Warlock: Master of the Arcane for free right now!

EDIT: So I had page loading issues when trying to claim my free game and ended up with 2 extra copies so if you missed the promo and still want it I can hook you up.

Pay $10 to unlock:

This is actually the first bundle where I don't own the majority of the games and I'm pretty interested in them.

If you have friends to share the extra copies with, Risk of Rain is worth the $6 for BTA. The cheapest the game has ever been was $2.50, and you're getting 4 copies here.

Bioshock 2 plays better than Infinite? ...how? I know they're not made by the same devs, but I would have assumed the improvements in 2 would be looked at during development of Infinite, especially considering reviewers cited 2 as playing better. (I've only played Bioshock 1 and Minerva's Den for 2 btw, and not touched Infinite.)

Bioshock 2 has double-wielding in your control schemes. Makes things A LOT easier and faster, gameplay-wise. Plus, you have more enemy types than you did in the original game, as well - which makes the gameplay more fun. Plus, you have defense-type of sections, when dealing w/ the Little Sisters. Though, Bioshock 2's story is nowhere as great as Bioshock 1 + Infinite. Though, I do highly recommend you take on Minerva's Den DLC, as it's actually MUCH better story-wise + MUCH more personal than Bioshock 2 base-game by a mile. Minerva's Den retains the Bioshock 2 type of gameplay, but it's the much improved story, characters, and narrative that make it great.

Regardless - don't miss Bioshock 1; Bio 2 + Minerva's Den; Infinite + Season Pass.

I think I'm going to hold off.  I was thinking about what I spent on the Bioshock series.  If memory serves correct, I bought Bioshock at full retail price ($59.99 or $69.99) when it first came out.  About a year ago, a hard copy of Bioshock 2 was for sale for $1.00 at EBGames factory sealed and I picked it up.  I'm going to see if Bioshock Infinite will be cheaper than it's current sale price this Christmas... hopefully $4.99 or less.

Haha I have become really, really stingy with video game purchases nowadays.

I forgot I had talked about this in here.  Thanks for answering W7RE's question, D.  That's pretty much how I feel.  I'll just add that I expected more from Infinite, being the supposed culmination of the series and all.  Yet I felt it was the weakest in terms of gameplay.  The vigors just didn't stand up to the plasmids, particularly those in the second game.  Infinite felt more like a corridor shooter than the earlier games.  That's ironic, considering the claustrophobic nature of the first 2 games, and the wide-open sky in Infinite.

I don't think the enemies; vigors/plasmids; and combat equipment in Infinite were as great as the original Bioshock 1 + Bioshock 2 & Minerva's Den. It just wasn't as interesting + as creative as the previous 2 games. Though, I love Infinite for its sky-lining sections in the combat (that was fun, fun, fun!!!) and the huge wide-open spaces - and I love it for its game-world, the subject-matter its tackling, story + plot.

Also, I really loved Burial At Sea, Part 2. Sure, I liked Part 1 - but by the time I was really getting to like Part 1, it unfortunately ends. BAS Part 2 feels more like a Looking Glass developed Thief game, since Elizabeth is not as straight-forward to play as say Booker. BAS Part 2 was great, IMHO.

Still, no matter how it's cut - every Bioshock game is worth playing.

Also new Humble Bundle with Sega games. Its kind of a meh bundle overall, but the cheap tier has the Dreamcast collection (minus Jet Set Radio for some reason) and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, which I have come to understand is a pretty decent kart racing game. Might be worth a buck just to pick it up.
