If you don't have this already, no excuse now! (Unless you despise Steam which I can understand)

P.S. Big Steam sale going on right now. MyD, I leave the floor to your superior Deals Listing abilities.

Yeah, there's a few things I'll probably pick up when I get home. Super Meat Boy, The new top down Tomb Raider, and the Oddbox.  I'll be keeping my eyes open for the daily deals.  Fingers crossed for New Vegas.

I got Super Meat Boy. Is the Tomb Raider game worth it? Is Oddbox worth it?

If you guys see any deals you feel are worthy, please do post about them.

I am considering Fallout 3 GOTY for $20. The F.E.A.R. pack is tempting at $9, because I want F.E.A.R. 2. Hmmm. Actually F.E.A.R. 2 can be had alone for $5. Hmmmm. $5 for something I will play, or $10 for something I will play + stuff I've already paid for in CD form. It appeals to the collector side of me... but I may just go for F.E.A.R. 2 alone.

I keep having to remind myself that Ubisoft games are an absolute no no.

The internet in this part of the world is just not reliable enough for me to have to be online every second.

edit:

OK I'll get F.E.A.R. 2.

Well, New Vegas is currently at 25% off at ~$38.

First of all, you are the man and you know why.

I did see New Vegas on there, and was tempted, but I'm going to hold off for a couple of reasons.  1.) Huge backlog of games. I think I've played my  2.) I'm pretty sure that the Holiday Sale is special in that there's a huge selection of games on sale for the duration of the week, but there's also daily deals of high profile games (Super Meat Boy) which have an additional discount for 24 hours.  I'll see what comes up during the week and worst case scenario, get New Vegas for 25% off at the end of the sale.

Anyways, I picked up Oddboxx, Lara Croft and the Gaurdian of Light, and The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom ($0.49).  Total Damage: $20. Also, some nice person gifted Super Meat Boy to me. Currently thinking about a couple more such as the newest Prince of Persia game.

Well, New Vegas is currently at 25% off at ~$38.

About a month ago, Direct2Drive had a better deal where Fallout: New Vegas - Digital Collector's Edition [FONV game + "All Roads" Digital Novel - yes, it still required Steam] was $35 and then there was a 15% coupon that knocked it down to around $30 or so.

Of course, that D2D deal's currently dead.

The F.E.A.R. pack is tempting at $9, because I want F.E.A.R. 2. Hmmm. Actually F.E.A.R. 2 can be had alone for $5. G4WL a few weeks ago had FEAR 2: Complete Edition [FEAR 2 + Reborn DLC] for $4.99.
B/c it was on G4WL - that's right, No Steam involved.

Of course, that G4WL deal's currently dead.

Where's your closest friend who has Steam and a very fast connection?
Can you DL the game on a friend's PC w/ your own account and burn the game to DVD(s)?
Then take the DVD(s) and install it onto your PC?

You know, I just realized the Forgotten Sands for $5 isn't a bad deal on Steam either. I am considering.

Oh shit, I forgot:

Ubisoft’s Online Services Platform. Ubisoft requires a permanent Internet connection to play this video game at all times.

Just wondering... how bad is it? Anyone on that thing yet?

I have it.. I got Forgotten Sands a while back. It's much more tolerable now but it still occasionally pauses midgame to try to reconnect to the Ubi server.. Bear in mind I have a 30Mbps connection and that shit still happens.

Alternatively you can use you-know-what to get a satisfactory (normal) gaming experience.

I've tried the UbiSoft U-Play DRM w/ 3 games - SC: Conviction, Assassin's Creed 2, and now POP: The Forgotten Sands: Digital Deluxe Edition. I luckily ain't ran into any problems w/ any of these...yet.

Knock on freakin' wood.

Fuck, this is why you wait until the last day for non daily deals during these Steam sales.  Lara Croft is now $4 or so.   I mean, I only paid three bucks more, but that's like another game during these sales.

Aaaaaand probably going to pick up The Witcher, even though I'll probably never play it again.

Also, Steam's servers have been as slow as anything over the past year. I noticed that they went superfast during the sale. I bet Steam upgrades holiday season.

I would have stayed away from The Witcher, but with the sequel coming out I figured I might want a refresher at some point.

I've still narrowly avoided buying a ton of games I could easily justify.  The Red Faction games. etc.

Hell, I still have a bunch from the Summer Sale that I haven't gotten into.

Not available in my region.. Which also marks the first time that Steam has given me a region issue.

I think AP is worth the $7.50. *shrug*

If you this came out when Deus Ex or Mass Effect 1 came out, this would've been better received. Mass Effect 2's combat for an RPG really made people want much better combat in RPG's.

BTW - The ME 1 and 2 deals on Steam are WAY WORTH the money.

I think Fallout: New Vegas is the better game of the two in many ways, actually - especially since there's been a bunch of patches released that have an extensive amount of fixes.

I really wish Sega would've let Obsidian work out some of the issues in Alpha Protocol to the degree that Zenimax/BethSoft let Obsidian work FO: New Vegas out in just a matter of a few months.
