I jumped on that FO3 GOTY deal on Impulse.  I already bought the original game, but had none of the expansions.  I burned out on the original previously, but Cobra described at least one of the add-ons as practically a requirement to play so I think I'll give it another shot after I get done with ME2.

If I recall you normally get messages to your Pipboy.. However, I think with Broken Steel you have to wait till you finish the game to get the message. Alternatively, when you level up take a look at the Perks, if you can see any that require you to be above level 20, then you know Broken Steel is active since it raises the level cap from 20 to 30.

I got the Rockstar collection fornaround $40 in the summer, but the GTA deal here is probably a better bet.  No desire to revisit the older GTA games and the only other games icluded which aren't free now are the two (great) Max Payne games.

Unlike the other 4 DLCs, Broken Steel (not Brotherhood of Steel, duh) continues the main story, and it kicks in when the time comes.  The others give you messages and starting locations on the map you can visit at any time.  The level-cap bump happens right away, though.  When you hit Level 20, you should continue earning XP toward 21.

It's not bad but it's basically a cheap knock-off of Geometry Wars with no gamepad support, only mouse+kb controls.

This might be useful information for some.

So Steam said I could have a refund... but my purchase is tied to three other games and they can't (or won't) separate them. I can get a refund for everything but I'll have to buy the other stuff back at full price instead of the rad sale prices.

So Just Add Water keeps another unwilling customer. I hope this patch is a good one.

In related news, I'll be buying all of my future Steam games in single transactions instead of groups.

Dude wanted a refund for the Oddworld games since they were so buggy. Its rare that Steam will ever grant refunds, but its a good thing to keep in mind that they will only undo the entire transaction and not just a single game.
